On the occasion of the 249th Independence Day of the United States, the Honorable U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Bangladesh, Ms. Traci Ann Jacobson, hosted a special diplomatic reception on the evening of Wednesday, 2 July 2025, at the Highwest United Convention Center in Tongi, Dhaka.

The event was attended by ambassadors, high commissioners, diplomats from various countries, political leaders, retired military officials, senior government officials, and prominent members of civil society.

Representing Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami at the event were the party’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former Member of Parliament Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar, Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Central Media and Publicity Department Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, Central Executive Council Member and Ameer of Dhaka Metropolitan South Mr. Nurul Islam Bulbul, Central Executive Council Member and Ameer of Dhaka Metropolitan North Mr. Mohammad Selim Uddin, and Foreign Affairs Advisor to the Ameer of Jamaat, Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan.

During the event, Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher handed over a goodwill message on behalf of Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman to the U.S. envoy.

The delegation expressed hope that the existing friendly, commercial, and diplomatic relations between the United States and Bangladesh would grow stronger, more effective, and mutually beneficial in the coming days.
